What We Do

KR Counselling provides private online counselling for individuals and couples across the United Kingdom. The service is run by Kaukab Rasul, a qualified person-centred counsellor with over 20 years of experience, based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire.

All sessions take place online via Zoom, FaceTime or WhatsApp video. There is no in-person offering. The service is available to adults throughout the UK during weekday and evening hours.

Therapeutic Approach

Kaukab works using a person-centred approach. This means therapy is led by you, not by the therapist. There is no diagnosis, no prescriptive techniques, and no fixed agenda. The focus is on creating a warm, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

The approach is grounded in empathy, unconditional positive regard and genuineness — the core conditions of person-centred therapy as developed by Carl Rogers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is counselling?

Counselling is a form of talking therapy where you work with a trained professional to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in a safe, confidential space. It is not about giving advice — it is about helping you understand yourself better and find your own way forward.

Who can benefit from counselling?

Anyone going through a difficult time can benefit. Common reasons include anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, stress, life transitions, grief, low self-esteem or simply feeling stuck. You do not need to be in crisis to start.

How are sessions delivered?

All sessions are online via Zoom, FaceTime or WhatsApp video — whichever platform you feel most comfortable with. You just need a private space and a stable internet connection.

How much does counselling cost?

Individual sessions (50 minutes) cost £45. Couples sessions (60 minutes) cost £55. Young people's sessions (50 minutes) cost £35. Payment is by bank transfer before each session.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. Everything discussed in sessions is confidential. The only rare exceptions are situations involving a risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or where disclosure is required by law. This would always be discussed with you first where possible.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged in full. Emergencies are handled flexibly.

How do I book a session?

Email hello@kr-counselling.com or call 07932 706925. There is no obligation — you can ask questions first and decide if counselling feels right for you.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is about getting to know each other. Kaukab will ask some questions to understand what brings you to therapy, and you can ask anything you need to feel comfortable. There is no pressure to share more than you are ready to.

How often will we meet?

Most clients find weekly sessions work well, at least initially. Over time, some choose to move to fortnightly. The rhythm is shaped around what works for you.

Can I end therapy at any time?

Yes. You are free to end therapy whenever you choose. Ideally, you would let Kaukab know and have a closing session, but there is no obligation to continue.
